The first time visiting a church can be overwhelming. Here's a little of what to expect.
Thank you for contacting us.
We will get back to you as soon as possible
Driving down Forest Hill Road in Macon, Georgia, you round a curve and notice a structure depicting a silhouette of St. Francis, with the words “St. Francis Church” underneath, along the stone wall.
Driving in, the landscape that feels both wild and natural, yet is obviously tended with loving hands to be a place of peace, serenity, and a reflection of the love so poured out upon the people. Fitting for the patron St. Francis, you might encounter any number of animals, birds, and insects all welcome at this place, literally an oasis in the midst of the growth and construction of ever-sprawling North Macon.
The driveway leads to a small circle where you will see the red double doors to the chapel. This is where we gather for worship. An usher will greet you with a smile at the door and give you a service bulletin with everything you'll need for worship.
We hope you will join us for coffee and pastries before or after the service. To the left of the chapel, you will see a large porch. If the weather is nice, you'll likely find a few folks relaxing and chatting in the rocking chairs. Just through the porch doors, you'll find the parish hall. We'll have plenty of coffee and snacks waiting for you.
If you aren't sure where to go, don't hesitate to ask someone! We are a growing congregation, truly open to all, and continually examining, adapting, and recommitting our mission to the greater glory of God. All of this constant searching allows all on their journey to engage in worship, ministry, and fellowship as a community in Christ. If you have been searching for a faith community where you will be accepted as your are, welcome home.
