As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace"
- 1 Peter 4:10
The mission of the Pastoral Care Team is to provide physical, spiritual and emotional support to the St. Francis community by discerning and responding actively to a wide variety of parishioner needs in a respectful and compassionate way. With the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, we respond in love by ministering appropriately to those in need and by celebrating with those who rejoice. Some of the ways in which we provide Pastoral Care are by praying for those in need, visiting people in the hospital and at their homes, providing meals, sending cards, and hosting funeral receptions. We welcome everyone to join us in this wonderful ministry.
Please contact pastoralcare@stfrancismacon.org if you have a pastoral need or would like more information.
The Daughters of the King is a Holy Order for confirmed laywomen in the Episcopal, Roman Catholic and Lutheran churches. The order has a “Rule of Life”. This rule is to pray, serve and evangelize. We maintain a "prayer chain" of prayer requests and those on the church prayer list, prepare meals for the sick, assist with funeral receptions, serve at Weekend Lunch and provide support to Pastoral Care. We meet at 10:00 am on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. The order is open to all women in the church.

You can think of members of the committee as event planners, caterers, cooks, and collaborators. The Parish Life Team is made up of a diverse group of Franciscans who are hard-working, dedicated, and truly embody the spirit of St. Francis. . If you are new to the church or would like to meet and get to know more Franciscans, Parish Life is a great team on which to serve because most Parish Life events involve the entire congregation. You will have the opportunity to meet adults from all services, in addition to the youth and children of St. Francis.
Contact parishlife@stfrancismacon.org for more information.
The Hospitality/Evangelism ministry welcomes newcomers to the church. This includes welcome gift bags and Newcomers' Luncheons. This ministry provides opportunities for visitors to get to know members and find out more about St. Francis on a personal level.

Often referred to as the EV or LEV (Lay Eucharistic Visitor), the ministry of the Eucharistic Visitor provides the sacrament to those who are hospitalized, home-bound, and in nursing homes. It is an extension of our Communion - some of the bread and wine that is blessed each Sunday is reserved each week to take to those who cannot be with us in worship. EVs are trained to lead a brief prayer service before sharing the blessed bread and wine of Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to share in this ministry.

Adult Christian Formation
Christian formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all creation. Every experience in our lives can provide us with the opportunity to express our faith; the challenge we face is recognizing these opportunities and learning ways to live a sometimes counter-cultural life in a secular world. The Adult Christian Formation team plans the Adult Sunday School curriculum as well as other adult classes. The members also teach various classes. New members are always welcome.
Please contact adultchristianformation@stfrancismacon.org for more information.
Children's Ministries
Children's ministries work to ensure that as a church, St Francis protects, cares for, and nurtures our youngest members as they take their first steps on their faith journey. This ministry coordinates the nursery, Sunday school, Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, and other fun events.
For more information, contact children@stfrancismacon.org.
Youth Ministry
Youth Ministries calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness – pointing out the sacred in the midst of the chaos of adolescence (6th thru 12th grade) and walking faithfully with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Youth Ministries is a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and hopefully, transformation. Responding to the spiritual needs of teens is about building trusting relationships. We strive to walk with young people on their journeys from childhood to adulthood, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their desire to make a difference in the world.
The Youth Group meets Sundays at 12:15 pm.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
-Psalm 95:1
The adult choir rehearses year-round (with a brief summer hiatus) on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm and provides music for the 11:00 AM service each Sunday. No experience or aptitude is necessary. Feel free to just show up and give us a test drive some Wednesday.

Shepherding the Flock: Our Vestry
The Vestry, as the legal representative of the parish and its corporate property, plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting the mission of St. Francis. Our dedicated Vestry members serve 3-year terms and are elected by the parish members. Led by the Rector, the Vestry is responsible for defining and articulating the congregation's mission, supporting it through their words and actions, selecting the Rector, ensuring effective organization and planning, and managing resources and finances.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us at vestry@stfrancismacon.org.
Financial Ministry: Nurturing Resources for God's Work
The Finance Team provides support, advice, and guidance to the Vestry, clergy, and staff as it relates to church-related financial matters and maintains a sound internal control system that assures the Vestry and parish that the funds collected and disbursed receive proper handling and are accounted for in accordance with the Vestry’s wishes. For more information, contact finance@stfrancismacon.org.
Legacy of Generosity
The Planned Giving Board oversees and promotes opportunities for members and supporters of the church to make long-term financial commitments, often through wills, trusts, or other estate planning mechanisms. The board works to educate the congregation about planned giving options, engage with donors to discuss legacy giving, and steward relationships with individuals who have made planned gifts. Additionally, the board is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and recognizing donors who have made planned gifts to the church. Overall, the board's goal is to help ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the church through thoughtful and strategic planned giving efforts.
The Planned Giving Board consists of four members appointed by the Vestry as well as the Rector and the Senior Warden who serve as ex-officio non-voting members. The Board is the custodian of the Endowment Fund for St. Francis.
Enhancing Our Worship Experience: Our Worship Committee
The Worship Committee plays a vital role in shaping and enhancing the worship experience at St. Francis. The committee is responsible for working closely with the clergy and other church leaders to plan and coordinate various aspects of worship services, such as selecting hymns, liturgical elements, and thematic elements to align with the church calendar and overall worship vision.
Additionally, the committee is involved in recruiting and supporting volunteer participants, such as musicians, readers, and ushers, for worship services. They often explore innovative ways to enrich the worship experience, while ensuring that it remains inclusive and spiritually uplifting for all members of the congregation.
Overall, the Worship Committee's primary goal is to facilitate meaningful, inspiring, and reverent worship experiences that align with the traditions and values of the church, while also embracing new and creative expressions of worship.
Looking Towards the Future
Building to Serve is our vision to live into God's call to build a new worship space in order to be able to draw the circle wider and provide a welcoming place for the community. One aspect of Building to Serve is coordinating the capital campaign in order to fund our new worship space. The other aspect is the Building to Serve Architectural Committee, which works with our contractor and architect to design and build the new worship space. For more information, contact buildingtoserve@stfrancismacon.org.
